Session Overview

In this session we will:
1. Develop an understanding of personal strengths and career direction
2. Begin to address filling in the gaps of what you want out of your career
3. Explore goal setting
4. Discover how to develop the skills you need to achieve your goals

About Your Presenter - Kate Roffey

- Kate Roffey- smallAfter completing her first undergraduate degree in Sports Science, Kate started her career in sport working with elite athletes as a biomechanist at the Australian Institute of Sport. Whilst at the AIS, she completed a degree in Psychology and went on to work with a number of sports teams as a strength and conditioning advisor and sports trainer.

From elite sport Kate moved into the more lucrative area of business administration and has filled a range of senior administration roles including Director of the Kingswood Outdoor Education Centre in Norfolk, England and Business Unit Leader of Corporate Health and Recreation for the Australian Parliamentary Services.

In 2002, Kate joined the Federal Shadow Ministry as the senior adviser for sport, recreation and obesity in the lead up to the 2004 Federal election. In November 2004 she moved to Melbourne to take on the role of CEO of vicsport.  In 2008 Kate moved to Tennis Australia where she manages the Melbourne Park Redevelopment, Government Business and the Australian Tennis Foundation.

Kate has held numerous board and committee positions. She is currently a Director of Harness Racing Victoria, a Director of the Melton Park Trust, as well as a member of the Melbourne Vixens Committee and the Bulleen Boomers WNBL Commission. Kate also has a strong interest in governance and strategic planning and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
